What should aftercare look like?
From Mobile Massage Therapist Theo experience of people having cosmetic surgery in the UK, their surgeons are recommending you should have one or two Pre-Op Manual Lymphatic Drainage Massages and a minimum of twelve Manual Lymphatic Drainage Massages Post-Op.
They should start from 24 to 72 hours after your initial surgery.
The first six Manual Lymphatic Drainage Massages should be carried out in the first two weeks.
The next six Manual Lymphatic Drainage Massages should be carried out in the following three weeks.
Then, depending on your healing process a possible few more after this, say one a week.
Ever client is different, and the healing process differs depending on people following the three major factors below that aids your recovery.
One:
Your Compression Garment being worn (needs to be tight – if it’s comfortable its too big)
Two:
Drink plenty of water
Three:
Take it easy, relax and do not overdo it
