Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is a specialised massage technique which encourages the natural process of the lymphatic vessels and can help boost your energy levels. It is a gentle light touch full body massage treatment, which will help boost your immune system, help give your body a good detox whilst promoting healing and help fight infection. MLD is a popular treatment recommended by surgeons after surgery.
Sports massage is the manipulation of soft body tissue in a mindful, preventative and corrective way to benefit a person engaged in regular physical activity. It is used to help prevent injuries, to prepare the body for athletic activity and maintain it in optimal condition, and to help athletes recover from workouts and injuries.
Swedish massage is the most popular form of massage. This is the first form of massage taught before going into Aromatherapy and Sports Massage. This is a classic treatment which represents the western standard for massage. The five main techniques used in Swedish massage is stroking and gliding, kneading, rubbing, tapping or pounding and vibration are probably what spring to mind when you think about a “typical” massage.
Aromatherapy is a truly holistic therapy which uses essential oils in treatments to strive for physical, mental and spiritual health equilibrium. The body’s innate ability to heal itself is awakened and persuasion encourages a return from a state of imbalance or ‘dis-ease’ to a state of balance or health. The healing process occurs irrespective of whether the disharmony is manifesting itself on a seemingly physical level (for example a headache) or on an emotional level (for example depression). Aromatherapy is not only aimed at relieving and eliminating health problems but it is also very much concerned with the prevention of disease and promotion of healthy living.
“A massive THANK YOU Theo for coming and providing massage to our Running Team on Sunday at The London Marathon. I have had such great feedback and we really couldn’t have given our runners such a great reception if it wasn’t for your help!”
“Our runners were so appreciative of their massage after running 26.2 miles and it really helped Marie Curie Cancer Care. We are hoping to raise in excess of 200,000 from this year’s Event to help Marie Curie Cancer Care carry on providing high quality nurses, totally free, to give terminally ill people the choice of dying at home supported by their families.”
“Theo worked very hard giving so many of our runners leg massages at the Marie Curie Cancer Care London Marathon Reception at The Thistle Hotel, Charing Cross, London. We are very grateful for all his help & support and we really appreciated him staying for as long as he did! I am very happy to recommend him”
I have received lots of lovely emails from runners and their families and I wanted you to see the ones below especially:
“Just wanted to send a brief note of thanks and praise to Marie Curie for looking after their runners so well after the race yesterday. We went to support our daughter who was running for Marie Curie and accompanied her to the Thistle Hotel in Charing Cross afterwards. My daughter said it was wonderful and so appreciated to be able to have a massage on those very tired legs.”
“It was great to see you on Sunday at the reception and thank you so much for all your help. I was especially grateful I could get a massage which was fabulous!”
